Humble before a Holy God – by Tanner age 18

When I first started seeking to know the Lord, I began to see things in my life that I did that did not please the Lord. I wanted to please the Lord and I did not like the fact that I was doing things that were contrary to God and His purposes. So, I asked God, “I love you Lord and there are things that I do that I know are wrong and I don’t want to do them, God please show me the source.” God then spoke to my heart and said “Pride, pride is the root, if you get rid of pride sin will leave with it.” That is what the body of Christ needs to see. Pride is the enemy. Pride is the source of sin. Pride keeps us from the Lord. “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) The devil operates under pride. For anyone to live a life worthy of the price Jesus paid, pride must be removed. The only way pride is done away with in the life of a believer is through intimate time spent with the Lord. Prayer, fasting, laying down our lives for the Lord, giving Him our time for a sacrifice, doing things we don’t feel like doing for Him and His glory. We must submit to the Lord for Him to have His way in our lives. Submission takes humility and humility is opposite of pride. When we lay our desires down and let God do the work; His transforming power is allowed to move in our lives. If we humble ourselves in faith that God will do a work; He will send his grace to change us “Ye are saved by grace through faith.” (Ephesians 2:8) “…gives grace to the humble.” All we have to do is let go of our desires and let Him do the work. He wants to change you…let Him.

James 4:6 (KJV) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
