Relationship with a Holy God – by Tanner age 18

Many Christians forget what being a Christian really is. Let this article serve as a reminder. People get caught up in “serving God” and miss out on relationship. God wants to be your greatest friend. God is a person. He wants you to spend time with Him. He wants you to come to Him for help, purification, healing, or just to talk. If you see God as your friend that is what he’ll be. Jesus said to the blind man, “According to your faith, be it unto you.” God will always love you and will always tell you the truth. There are very few Christians who take the time to hear from God. People would mess up a whole lot less if they listened to God. When a person makes the decision to surrender to Jesus and be born again; it’s for change. God brings change, He brings freedom. If a Christian really wants to know God and really wants freedom they won’t try and change what they do in order to please God. They will evaluate their heart – the why’s behind their life. God is who can change our heart. Being holy is about who we were created to be. We were supposed to display God’s character and destroy the works of the devil. This was impeded by Adam sinning in the garden, but Jesus came to restore a way to true freedom. All we do now is just get to know God as a friend and a father. God is eager to spend time with His kids. He isn’t just able to speak with you…He is eager to. Give God the opportunity to speak to you…He will change you if you let Him. Listen and let Him be your friend. It’s easy to be friends with love. All a relationship/friendship requires is love, and if you love Him you keep His commandments(John 14:15, 1 John 5:2-3). Give Him your heart and spend time talking to Him. Just spend time with Him…be His friend.

John 14:15King James Version (KJV)

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 John 5:2-3King James Version (KJV)

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
